Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

In Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, the sixth book in the Harry Potter series, the magic and events get a bit darker but there are still fun events like dinner parties with the new potions teacher. Professor Snape finally gets the position of the Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher as he has always wanted. Harry becomes the Captain of the Gryffindor Quidditch team and a surprising new keeper joins the Gryffindor team. Also in this book, Harry is under the impression that Draco Malfoy had become a Death Eater in the place of his father, Lucius Malfoy, who had recently been taken to Azkaban Prison and Harry is confused about Draco’s constant disappearances inside the school. Professor Dumbledor goes looking for dark objects called horcruxes and Harry feels compelled to search for theses horcruxes too. Sadly, in this book, a beloved character dies at the hands of a character that will leave you somewhat shocked and searching for answers!

This is also one of my favorite books in the Harry Potter series because there is a noted change from the first five books that were light and exciting for Harry – but as the events get darker, the presence of Voldemort seems clearer.
